Where it hurts decides the room

Treatment chosen after we hear what happened

Every plan starts with an evaluation and your whole history. These six are what most people come through our doors for. The full list also covers TMJ pain, migraines, rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, arthritis and fibromyalgia.

“With an ever-evolving understanding of the human body and mind, it is our mission to hear your story and join your journey towards comfort and happiness.”

Brett Roberts, DPT, built the practice on a simple order of operations: listen first, treat second, and teach you the how and why so the recovery lasts. Today seven clinicians and the front desk team carry that across five clinics.

Wisconsin is a direct-access state

No Referrals Needed

Call the clinic yourself. We send your evaluation to your physician of choice so their records stay up to date.

Questions people ask before the first visit

No. In Wisconsin you can see a physical therapist directly, without a referral. Because of that, Roberts Physical Therapy can often schedule your evaluation within one to two business days of your call, and we send the evaluation to your physician of choice so their records stay current.

Arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration, bring your insurance card and any reports that help explain your condition, and wear loose, comfortable clothes so the therapist can reach the area that hurts. The first session runs up to an hour and you spend all of it with your physical therapist.

The initial evaluation is typically an hour and may include some treatment. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 45 minutes.

Aquatic therapy is offered only at the Wisconsin Rapids clinic, 621 8th Street South. Your therapist decides at the initial evaluation whether the pool is the right place for your rehab.

Yes, at Wisconsin Rapids. The walk-in clinic sees pain, sprains, strains and flare-ups the same day. Self-pay is $250 for the evaluation and treatment, with dry needling as a $25 add-on, and insurance is accepted for ongoing care. Suspected broken bones, head injuries, worsening neurological symptoms and open wounds belong at urgent care or the ER.

The front desk verifies benefits with your plan before you start. Verification is not a guarantee of coverage, so it is worth calling your insurer too, and a deductible or co-pay may apply at each visit. The clinic works with most major plans, Medicare, Medicaid through Security Health Plan and Community Care of Central Wisconsin, and every workers' compensation carrier.
