Low back and neck pain

Back and neck pain, handled by someone who listens first

Low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, whiplash, headaches, TMJ pain and pain that has hung around for months. Our Doctors of Physical Therapy start with your story, and you do not need a referral to see us.

Why back and neck pain lingers

Back and neck pain rarely arrives with a clear cause, and it is easy to live around for months. Sciatica, whiplash, chronic headaches and migraines, TMJ pain and persistent pain are all on the list of conditions we treat.

Waiting for it to settle on its own is a common first move. If it is still there after a few weeks, or it is changing how you work, drive or sleep, that is a good time to have it examined.

How we work on it

We listen to your story before we touch anything. Then comes the exam, and from it a plan built from manual therapy, dry needling where it helps, and exercise-based rehab.

You see a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and the whole session has their undivided attention. Jacob Brenner treats in Plainfield and Wisconsin Rapids and lists low back and shoulder among his interests. David Ecker and Morgan Walcott treat in Amherst and Wisconsin Rapids.

What you do between visits

Home-exercise education is part of every plan. We believe an informed patient recovers faster, so you leave knowing what the exercises are for and what to do if the pain flares.

If a flare-up will not wait, the Wisconsin Rapids walk-in clinic takes same-day patients with back and neck pain. Call (715) 803-7617 to book at any of our clinics.

In a patient's words

“When I first came, my neck was very stiff with very little mobility. I also had pain in my upper back. Thanks to Jacob for the physical therapy and exercises. I am pain free and mobility is normal!”
