Telehealth

Telehealth physical therapy from your own home

Secure, HIPAA-compliant video visits with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, scheduled by one phone call.

What works well on a screen

Your pain does not stop when you get home, and sometimes the easiest way to get care is not to leave. A virtual visit lets you talk with your physical therapist in real time, the same as in the clinic. You describe your symptoms, your condition, your medications and whatever is making progress hard, from your own living room.

Telehealth visits are a fit for follow-up appointments, shoulder, wrist, knee and ankle concerns, pain management follow-up and consultation, low back pain, arthritis pain and mobility issues, and workers' compensation consultation.

It also removes a few real obstacles: a cancelled visit when you are not feeling well, a road closed by weather, or a day when getting out of the house is the hard part.

How a virtual visit runs

Call (715) 803-7617 and ask for a virtual visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The practice sends a confirmation message with the details and a WebPT Zoom link, and on the day of your appointment your provider emails a link to check in.

You need an internet connection and a smartphone or a computer running Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome. The first time, WebPT Zoom asks you to download Zoom and to allow the camera and microphone, so you can see, hear and talk to your therapist. Then you wait in a virtual waiting room until your provider starts the session.

Clear a little floor space before you log on. If someone lives with you, your therapist may ask them to help with an exercise.

Private, and when to come in instead

Visits run on WebPT Zoom, a secure video chat that complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All visits and patient information are protected under those rules, and you decide who knows about your condition and your care.

Some treatment needs hands. Manual therapy, dry needling and aquatic therapy happen in the clinic, and your therapist will tell you when a video visit should become an in-person one.
