When a flare-up cannot wait for a referral
Some problems do not keep to an appointment calendar. Your back locks up getting out of the car, an ankle rolls on the ice, or a shoulder you have babied for months suddenly will not lift. The Wisconsin Rapids walk-in clinic exists for that morning, whether something just happened or a lingering issue suddenly got worse.
We specialize in muscle, joint and back conditions: back and neck pain, sprains and strains, sports injuries, work-related injuries, shoulder, knee, hip and ankle pain, and muscle spasms and flare-ups. If you are unsure whether what you have belongs here, walk in and the therapist will guide you.
Wisconsin lets you see a physical therapist directly, so there is nothing to collect from a doctor first. The evaluation is sent to the physician of your choice afterwards so their records stay current.
What happens when you walk in
The visit is built to be simple. You walk in, or you call (715) 803-7617 and book the same day. A licensed physical therapist evaluates you, treats you during the visit, and you leave with a clear plan to recover. You are not handed a diagnosis and sent away to wait for a second appointment.
Most patients are seen quickly. Wear loose, comfortable clothes so the therapist can reach the area that hurts, and bring your insurance card and any reports that explain your condition if you have them.
Self-pay is $250 for the walk-in evaluation and treatment, and trigger point dry needling can be added for $25 when your therapist thinks it will help. If you need more visits, insurance is accepted for ongoing care, and the front desk verifies your benefits before you continue.
When it is not us
A walk-in physical therapy clinic is the right door for muscles, joints and backs. It is not the right door for everything, and we would rather say so plainly. Please go to urgent care or the ER if you have suspected broken bones, head injuries, severe or worsening neurological symptoms, or open wounds or signs of infection.
Once the emergency is handled, we are glad to pick up the recovery. Walk-in care moves straight into a full plan of care at Wisconsin Rapids, including the pool for people who need it, so there is no gap between the first visit and getting back to what you do.
